Blue Planet Energy was founded on the mission of eliminating the use of carbon-based fuels and powering the world with clean, reliable, affordable energy for everyone. This global mission cannot succeed without a diversity of talents, experiences, and perspectives bringing forward new solutions, approaches, and innovations. We join others in our clean energy community who know that it is not only important but essential, for our industry to represent the communities we serve and to establish an inclusive model to drive our movement forward.The Blue Planet Energy team is reminded by recent events that continually educating ourselves on our own unconscious bias is the keystone to lasting change. We know it may not always be easy or pleasant, but we are invested in confronting our imperfections and growing from them as individuals. And to aid in our efforts collectively, our team has established a Diversity and Inclusion committee to understand our areas for improvement, create action plans to address our commitments, and share best practices.One such commitment we have undertaken is joining over 1,000 other companies in signing the CEO Action Pledge, committing to four initial goals:
- We will continue to make our workplaces trusting places to have complex, and sometimes difficult, conversations about diversity and inclusion
- We will implement and expand unconscious bias education
- We will share best—and unsuccessful—practices
- We will create and share strategic inclusion and diversity plans with our board of directors
The CEO Action Pledge promises to act on creating a more inclusive workplace for employees, communities, and societies at large. We realize that each new commitment like this helps us constantly reimagine ways to improve ourselves and encourage those around us to do the same.
